dysfunctional than
this one, I can’t imagine it! Instead of letting it continue to work
as it has all these years, we need to make drastic changes in it and bring
it into the 21st century like other insurance companies. Find out how you

National Wind Policy
Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America
(IIABA) is not only concerned with man-made catastrophic risks but also
those created by the forces of nature. The high costs of recent natural
disasters combined with the fear of future catastrophes have restricted
homeowners’ insurance availability in disaster-prone regions. Several
recent multibillion-dollar disasters have created exposure and solvency
issues for companies that write homeowners insurance in disaster prone
areas. As a result, many insurance companies have stopped writing new
business in or withdrawn from at-risk markets, making it difficult for
residents to find homeowners’ coverage.

A Sample Letter to
Send to
the Contacts Listed Above (Or Talking
Points to Include in Your Own Letter):
Why hasn't Congress put into place a national wind
policy
similar
to national flood insurance? Insurance companies cannot offer
hurricane insurance due to it large economic and catastrophic nature so
the
federal government has to offer it. It can be serviced by the
same organizations. Then the property insurance companies could remove
wind from their
policies
and reduce our premiums. We would in turn be offered wind policies like
flood policies and our insurance companies would have no valid reason
to stop
writing insurance in our states.
We need a viable insurance marketplace to recover from catastrophic
wind losses. It is impossible for each state to take on this economic
burden
without federal backing through one of their state run insurance pools.
I understand that the other perils of
earthquake
and terrorism could also be offered under this type of national
insurance,
but for now we need to start the process with wind.
Sending Multiple Letters :
If you would like to send the same message to several of
the
contacts
listed above, the most efficient way is to use the cut and paste
method. Begin by writing your message in a simple text editor such as
notepad.
Once your message is completed, place your cursor at the beginning of
the
text that you would like copied. Hold down the left-hand button on the
mouse and slide the cursor over all of the text that you want copied.
When
the entire text is highlighted, then release the left-hand mouse
button.
Hold down the CTRL key and hit C. This will copy all of the highlighted
text. Go to any of the links above to send a message. Place your cursor
in
the text message area for the person you are contacting. Hold down the
CTRL
key and hit V. This will paste your message in the window. You can keep
using the CTRL V command to paste the letter into as many different
message
windows as you would like. Once the message is pasted in the window,
you
can then edit it any way you would like to personalize the message e.g.
changing the salutation.
